Window Rooms

Window rooms, also known as sun rooms, are an excellent way to affordably add living space to your home and should be considered as an alternative to remodeling. Sun rooms are built with a three inch insulated panel roof and insulated panels installed below and above the windows. This allows the room to keep the cool air in and the hot air out.

There are a variety of shapes and sizes of windows and doors to choose from and they are made from glass, acrylic, or vinyl. Acrylic is a high grade plastic made primarily from petroleum. Scratches in acrylic can be buffed out, unlike glass. Acrylic is many times stronger than glass, more impact resistant, and safer, but only weighs half as much as glass. Vinyl film windows are another popular choice for window rooms and are generally less expensive. However, they lack the insulating properties of the acrylic pane windows
